For Maverik's first birthday we decided on a "Shaun the Sheep" theme (from the creators of the Wallace and Gromit cartoons). It is the only thing that will keep Mav's attention long enough for me to load the dishwasher or start dinner. He loves it!
This was the table setting.
I found a sheep shaped cookie cutter and used it to cut the sandwiches.
We made "Ewe" cupcakes.
This baby was skillfully crafted by Joshua!
It even had a tail!
As an Idaho girl I think this is a dang good lookin tater field!
Our front door had sign that said: "Welcome to the Barnyard! C'mon in!"
Mallow guessing game.
Special wishes for the birthday boy.
We had the show running quietly in the background. ( Oh did I tell you that there are no words on Shaun the Sheep. Just music, grunts, baa's and facial expressions.)
The party favors were bags of popcorn tied up in bandanas.
Mav's room was coloring and toy central. The older kids had a ton of fun coloring pictures of Shaun and his barnyard friends.
When it came time for "THE MOMENT" Mav just didn't know what to do with himself. It was the first time we have ever seen him hesitant to put something in his mouth.
One of the characters on the show is a little baby who always misplaces his binky. I decided to use this and do a spin off of pin the tail on the donkey.
The kiddos loved giving Timmy his binky.
Present time!
Happy Birthday Maverik Hawthorn Jones!
We love you so much!
Thank you everyone who came to share this special day with us! We missed those of you who live far away but we still celebrated with you in spirit!
